CISRS (COTS) Training
Duration:
1 Day (Maximum 12 Delegates)
Attendees:
New entrants/Operatives. In addition existing CISRS scaffolding Labourer cardholders will be required to complete the course on expiry of their current card, and prior to a new card being issued, as part of CISRS scheme requirements.
Aims:
RTis course has been developed to teach all new entrants and labourers the basic of the industry and how to work safely with scaffold and access equipment. It will also ensure that existing operatives are up to date, as scaffold labourers will be required to repeat the course on a five yearly cycle, prior to renewing their cards.

- Introduction
- General responsibilities
- Scaffold Terminology
- Servicing of equipment (tube,fitting,boards etc)
- Health,welfare,hygiene and housekeeping
- Electrical safety
- Fire prevention & control
- Noise & vibration
- Work at height
- Accident prevention and reporting
- Slips,trips & falls
- Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Transport safety on site
- Equipment and tools
- Manual handling (including loading and unloading)
- Lifting equipment using rope and wheel
Testing:
A written examination along with a practical examination will be required to pass this course
Certification:
Upon successfully completing the course you will be awarded the CISRS Operative Training
Scheme(COTS) certificate
