This course explores the philosophy and commonality of the NEC3/4 contracts, highlighting the differences between aspirations and practice in the UK construction sector. It covers key elements of NEC contracts, changes from NEC3 to NEC4, and the implementation of effective contract strategies. Topics include writing Contract Data, managing key NEC processes like early warnings, quality management, and compensation events, as well as the importance of consistent processes and systems to address NEC-related issues.

This course explains compensation events in NEC contracts, including notification, quotations, assessments, and the role of the Accepted Programme. It covers changes from NEC3 to NEC4 and includes practical case studies.

Running over two days and using a mix of learning material including case studies and scenario planning, this programme is designed to equip delegates with the skills necessary to be able to fulfil the role of a Supervisor using the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC).

The NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) is a contract specifically developed to appoint contractors for engineering and construction project work, including projects with any level of design responsibility. This NEC4 ECC framework provides a modern, collaborative method that enables clients, designers, contractors, and project managers to work together effectively to consistently achieve their project objectives under the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC).

Attendees of this course will have a much clearer understanding of the intent of the specific contractual clauses of the ECC contract and in practical terms begin to see how they should administer them for the benefit of all parties on a particular project.

This one-day workshop introduces you to the NEC4 Professional Service Contract (PSC) and Professional Service Short Contract (PSSC). It briefly introduces you to the common principles applicable to the NEC family of contracts. It then focuses on the requirements for the pre-contract information (Contract Data and Scope) of the NEC4 Professional Service Contract (PSC) and Professional Service Short Contract (PSSC) and the post-contract management processes. 

This one-day workshop introduces you to the NEC4 Professional Service Contract (PSC) and Short Contract (PSSC)– assuming attendees already have an understanding of the suite of NEC contracts. It focuses on practical issues in preparing the pre-contract information (Contract Data and Scope) and the new role of the Service Manager.
