This covers excavation-related accidents, statutory requirements, hazards, soil mechanics, collapse risks, support methods, hazard identification, risk assessment, inspections, and the Temporary Works procedure (BS5975).
The SSSTS Refresher Training course is designed for individuals holding the Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme certificate, aiming to update their skills and knowledge in line with current legislation. Through interactive methods like case studies and group work, participants will understand industry issues, health and safety laws, and effective communication on construction sites. The course covers topics such as fire risks, hazardous substances, and manual handling. Successful completion leads to a certificate valid for 5 years. This one-day course is recommended for those whose SSSTS certificate is expiring, with progression to the SMSTS training course suggested.
This course is designed to provide training for those involved in the temporary works process but who are not undertaking the role of Temporary Works Co-ordinator or Supervisor as defined in BS5975:2019.
The CITB Health and Safety Awareness Training course is designed for individuals in the construction and civil engineering industry. It focuses on identifying potential hazards on site and emphasizes the importance of maintaining a safe work environment. Participants will learn about accident prevention, health and safety laws, risk assessments, and reporting unsafe acts. This one-day course serves as preparation for the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test and is a prerequisite for obtaining a CSCS Labourers Card (Green Card).
This course complements the Temporary Works Co-ordinator Training Course (TWCTC) and is designed to provide training for those undertaking the role of Temporary Works Supervisor as defined in BS5975:2019+A1:2011.
This course is for those on site with responsibility for managing all forms of temporary works. It is designed to give confidence to senior management and those who engage with contractors, that candidates have reached an assessed standard of knowledge.
