Contract Training

The course is intended for those with no or only limited experience of mechanical and electrical engineering contracts.

This one-day course focuses on explaining how conditions fit into a contract and guiding participants through relevant contract clauses. Sessions are designed for discussion rather than lectures, allowing time for problem-solving and questions. The agenda covers contract strategy, types of contracts, clauses, contractor obligations, claims, payments, and dispute resolution. Participants will gain an understanding of contract shape, relationships, advantages, and disadvantages. This course covers the structure and key clauses of contracts, including the tender process, contract management, design, manufacture, site installation, testing, and completion. It also addresses issues like time, lateness, changes, payment, and dispute resolution, with a focus on understanding the clauses and their consequences.

The FIDIC Training course is designed to provide an intermediate level understanding of the notification, submission, and resolution of claims under the 1999 FIDIC Conditions of Contract. Participants will learn essential actions for fair claim resolution, review relevant claims clauses, and explore dispute settlement procedures. By the end of the course, attendees should be able to understand key procedures, apply claims clauses, avoid common pitfalls, and actively participate in the settlement of claims.

This course covers key topics related to MF1 contracts, including changes in Revision 5, the format and structure of MF1, and its suitability for different contract types. It also addresses negotiation strategies, key clauses, insurance and indemnities, testing and handover, defects liability, and limits of liability, with a focus on practical application and understanding the MF1 documentation.

The FIDIC Training course is a 2-day program aimed at providing a detailed understanding of FIDIC contracts. The course covers topics such as contract analysis, payment and valuation, risk allocation, claims, and dispute provisions. Participants will compare Red, Yellow, Silver, and Gold Books, learn about design responsibilities, and explore making credible claims. Workshops are included for practical problem-solving. The Contract Awareness Training course aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of contract law and its practical applications in various procurement routes. The course covers topics such as contract definitions, risk management, different forms of contracts, tender processes, compensation events, delay costs, sub-contracts, and certification. Sessions focus on key aspects like contract termination, responsibilities of parties, and completion procedures. This two-day course is available in various locations in the UK and internationally.

This 2-day course provides a comprehensive understanding of contract practicalities under English law, focusing on civil engineering projects. Day one covers English law basics, contract formation, risk analysis, and key contract forms. Day two delves into procurement processes, contract administration, extension of time, claims, and payment procedures.
