This one-day course, developed in consultation with the water industry, covers essential health and safety topics. It includes seven core modules and six specific to the water industry, focusing on areas such as legal responsibilities, hazard identification, personal protective equipment, environmental impact, incident procedures, equipment safety, and industry-specific health issues. The course aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to work safely in the water industry.

The Bills of Quantities (BoQ) Training course focuses on understanding and applying Volume 4 of the Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works. Participants learn to prepare bills of quantities accurately, ensure proper tendering, and handle payment issues. Practical exercises are included to enhance understanding. The course targets individuals involved in tender preparation, pricing, and measurement issues for highway construction and maintenance schemes. By the end of the course, participants should be proficient in using Volume 4 sections, compiling bills of quantities, and verifying Contractor's payment statements.

Taught by a chartered civil engineer and construction lawyer with extensive experience in construction disputes, the program is designed for civil engineers, quantity surveyors, estimators, construction lawyers, and other professionals in the contracting sector.

This three-day course provides a thorough introduction to designing steel and concrete bridges according to BS5400 and Highway Agency bridge design guide BD37. It covers key design principles, load considerations, global analysis, steel bridge elements, concrete bridge design, and practical design approaches. The course aims to equip civil and structural engineers with the knowledge needed to design bridges with construction, maintenance, and safety in mind. By the end of the course, delegates should be able to identify loadings, understand BS5400 concepts, design bridges, and address fracture and fatigue issues.

The Retaining Walls Training course aims to enhance the understanding and skills of geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, and graduate civil and structural engineers in designing retaining walls to Eurocode 7 standards. This two-day course focuses on providing guidance for assessing and maintaining bridge structures in the UK. It covers the deterioration of common bridge materials, Highways Agency requirements, and maintenance procedures. The course aims to help delegates understand bridge performance issues and develop appropriate assessment, maintenance, and repair strategies. By the end of the course, participants should be able to identify defects, plan surveys, conduct design assessments, select repair systems, and specify repair programs. The course is designed for professional staff involved in the assessment and maintenance of road and rail bridges.
