THE COURSE
If you manage, supervise, execute or inspect Utility excavations and reinstatements then this course is for you. The course will be of benefit to anyone in the Streetworks business; it will:
•Help Utility Company staff and their contractors to understand material choices and properties and to choose the correct materials and processes for the job. This will allow the production of specification-compliant work with minimal risk of failure and reduced potential for defects.
•Provide greater knowledge, which will allow more robust defences if unjustified defects are raised.
•Improve sustainability by explaining the opportunities for recycling and the options for using ‘alternative’ materials.
•Aid Highway Authority staff in identifying defects which, if not spotted, may represent a maintenance liability, unnecessarily using up precious highway authority money and other resources to repair.
•Increase compliance with the standard, which will reduce the risk of 3rd party insurance claims for vehicle damage due to potholes and for personal injury in the event of skidding accidents on non-compliant and slippery road surfaces.
•Reduce the amount of poor quality work, which is bad publicity for Utility Company and Highway Authority alike.
So let’s work together to improve things!
