ONE DAY COURSE FOR GEOTECHNICAL PROFESSIONALS
New Standards have been introduced to UK practice for the description of soils and rocks. All practicing geotechnical professionals need to know about these changes whether they are describing in the field or laboratory, reviewing descriptions or using descriptions in design. The level of knowledge as to the changes in practice is generally low.
The course will introduce the changes to soil description in the context of EC7 and other standards. Having described those matters that are to be done differently, the elements of soil description that are not changed will be summarised. The delegates will then be informed as to how a soil description should now be carried out. The lecture sessions will be supported by practical sessions where the delegates will be encouraged to practice the art of soil description under the close supervision of the presenter.
