Module 3: Understanding Gateway 3 – Completion and Handover
The Understanding Gateway 3 – Completion and Handovermodule focuses on the final stage of the Building Safety Regulator’s (BSR) Gateway process for higher-risk buildings (HRBs). This critical phase ensures that all construction work has been completed in full compliance with approved plans and that robust evidence is in place before occupation can occur. Participants will gain a clear understanding of what the law requires at Gateway 3, how to prepare the correct documentation, and how to collaborate effectively with dutyholders during completion and handover.
Section 1: What the Law Demands
At Gateway 3, dutyholders must provide comprehensive documentation and evidencevia the Golden Thread of Information. The Understanding Gateway 3 – Completion and Handovermodule explains what must be submitted at this stage, including as-built drawings, testing records, commissioning certificates, and information related to the Safety Caseand Safety Management System.
