Fire Awareness Training – Use of Extinguishers
The Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006 as amended require Employers to ensure that their employees are provided with adequate fire safety training.
The aims of a Fire Awareness course is to:
- To raise the general awareness of fire safety enabling individuals to help maintain fire safety standards and guard against bad fire practice and to reduce opportunities for fire to start in the workplace.
- An opportunity to discharge and use an extinguisher
Who is the Course designed for?
This course is aimed at general staff who will not be attending fire warden/marshal course who may be requiring basic fire training.
Cost: £40 per candidate

1.5 hours
Learning Outcomes
Candidates will develop:
- an insight on the fire hazards and precautionary measures found in the workplace
- an insight on choosing the right extinguisher and increase their confidence to use an extinguisher
- be aware of the principles of fire evacuation procedure
- have some awareness of employee duties required by the Regulations.

- Portable Extinguishers
- Hazards and Fire Safety measures in the workplace
- Evacuation Procedures
- Operational use of extinguishers (practical)
Note: this course may be delivered at the clients premises (maximum 20 persons)
