Fire Warden Training
Who is the course designed for:
The course is designed for new safety officers and persons allocated to undertake fire Warden/Marshal duties in buildings as well as Service Co-ordinators (Janitorial staff)
The law in Scotland requires
(a) Appropriate procedures to be taken in the event of an emergency
(b) Competent persons to secure evacuation
(c) Provide adequate fire fighting equipment, nominate competent persons and provide training on their use.
In the event of a fire within any premises someone must be available to co-ordinate and conduct evacuation procedures and to have an adequate number of nominate persons who are trained to deal with fire. It would be unreasonable to expect evacuation or for any first aid fire fighting to be performed on an ad hoc basis, it is expected that all but the smallest of premises will conduct this activity through a nominated Fire Marshal or Fire Warden who should expect training beyond general awareness training given to all staff, so as to undertake the duties competently..
