Overview
This one-day introductory course on Basic Reinforced Concrete Detailing to Eurocode 2 (EN 1992) aims to equip delegates with the knowledge and skills to understand detailing principles, responsibilities, information transmission, compliance checks, and good practice rules. The course covers documentation, drawing practices, detailing methods, bar bending schedules, and more. It targets novice Civil/Structural Technicians and Detailers, offering hands-on exercises and practical insights into the construction process. No previous detailing experience is required.

Introduction
A single day introductory course on R.C. Detailing to meet the detailing requirements of Eurocode 2 (EN 1992).
Aims and Objectives:
On completion of this course delegates should be able to:
- Understand the principles of detailing.
- Define individual responsibilities within the detailing process.
- Establish what information should be transmitted for efficient detailing process.
- Apply the appropriate checks and Code clauses to ensure compliance for the general case.
- Apply the appropriate checks for individual members.
- Understand the pitfalls with the current version of EN 1992 – and measures to overcome them.
- Consider buildability when carrying out detailing.
- Understand the bar bending schedule and current standards for scheduling.
- Apply basic good practice rules.

Mode of Delivery:
The day is designed to be an interactive process with continuous delegate feedback / discussion based around individual experience and requirements set against the different topics covered in the Course content.
A simple hand detailing exercises will be introduced throughout the day.

Novice / entry level (ONC / HNC) Civil / Structural Technicians and Detailers ideally from a Designer / Consultant background OR other Construction Industry Professionals wishing to gain a basic insight and understanding of the RC detailing process. Previous experience in detailing is not a pre-requisite.
Pre-Course Requirements
Ideally delegates should if possible obtain a copy of the ISE Standard Method of Detailing Structural Concrete – however this is not mandatory. Calculators, pencils, erasers and a scale rule will be required.
