Online Human Factors in Safety Training

It has been known for some time that most accidents are caused by the acts or omissions of people rather than, for example equipment failure. The study of human factors in safety enables us not only to understand drivers of behaviours which lead to loss, but also the drivers of behaviours which positively contribute to organisational success.

Who is it for?

Managers, supervisor, safety representatives, HR, Safety specialists and anyone with an interest in managing people effectively.

It is particularly useful for those who have already undertaken courses in accident investigation or risk assessment and need to better understand the human component in their analysis.

The course is designed around a series of lively discussions and exercises to enable learners to bringing together a number of complex ideas in this rapidly expanding field.

What will you be able to do?

• The meaning of human factors
• The HSG48 human factors model
• Different between “fault” and “blame”
• The impact or different organisation styles on individual performance.
