Supervisory Skills Training– 2 Days (or 2 x 1 days)
Often individuals move on to more challenging supervisory or management roles and we all recognise the importance of skills development in managing and motivating people. Often operational pressures coupled with scheduling and budgetary constraints mean that several months or years may pass before supervisors/managers receive focused training. This modular workshop aims to plug that gap by providing a productive, stimulating, positive and empowering experience for every manager and/or supervisor who attends.
Beginning with a self-assessment tool, delegates participate in management training exercises that pinpoint their strengths and bring to light opportunities for improvement. Interactive training activities take them through the paces of motivation, delegation, communication, performance management, conflict management and leadership.
Your supervisors/managers will:
• Understand the key role they have in encouraging and developing staff
• Explore and understand the link between motivation and behaviour through the Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI®)
• Gain a deeper understanding of their roles and responsibilities
• Identify the need for performance management and explore best practices to suit their own team
• Explore how to utilise and adapt their own personal management/leadership style in order to manage their team and customers more effectively
• Determine the best communication and conflict management strategies in order to get results
• Identify the need for delegation and learn the steps for delegation success
• Be provided with a range of practical resources and checklists to enhance their management and supervisory skills
Learning Methods:
• We will address the actual issues you face through exercises, discussion and the completion of a Personal Development Plan during the course of the Workshop.
• The Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI®) psychometric resource will be used throughout the Workshop and will underpin all modules.
