Frequently Asked Questions
HOW DO I GAIN THE QUALIFICATION?
It’s up to you!
One of the benefits of gaining your qualification with us is that we will fit around the needs of the candidate and the organisation they work for. You will see your tutor once a month. You can either come to our training room or our tutor will visit you. If you live at a distance then we are happy to overcome barriers by setting up regular Skype calls.
As this is a vocational qualification you will gather evidence of the topics from work you do. For example if you are covering a document on producing documents you might provide a word document that you have created, an email to your manager asking what is required or an email to a team member with the completed document.
It’s as easy as that! There are times where your tutor may want you to do a piece of writing about something you have completed within your workplace. The tutor may also observe you undertake a specific task or ask your line manager to provide a witness testimony.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
One of the first considerations is always ‘how long will it take?’ Undertaking any qualification is a big commitment and you will want to be re-assured that you have time to complete it.
One of the benefits of studying with us is that there are no ‘get this to me by this date or you will not pass’. We work around the commitments of both our learners and the organisations in which they work.
Some people take a year and some complete their qualification in less than 6 months. If you had two hours a week to dedicate to producing the evidence and work needed you could easily complete in 6 to 8 months.
HOW IS THE QUALIFICATION FUNDED?
It is normally the employer who would pay for vocational qualifications. This is because they are based on a role that you are undertaking.
However, if you are under 25 and work in a role which suits the qualification you may be eligible to have it fully funded. We gain funding from Skills Development Scotland to help you achieve your qualification. Contact us today to check your eligibility.
