Objectives
The course will provide delegates with an insight into wastewater treatment that will convert waste materials into stable products for safe disposal without adverse ecological effects; the protection of public health; and traditional design methods.
Course participants will be required to apply knowledge gained during tutored sessions into syndicate work and role-play. Delegates will need to identify and define appropriate technologies and their application to industrial case studies.
Aims
Wastewater is a complex mixture of natural inorganic and organic material mixed with man-made substances that is discharged to sewer and ends up at a wastewater treatment plant for purification.
The aim of this course is to provide an introduction to, and basic understanding of, wastewater treatment technologies which bring about the removal of pathogenic micro-organisms through a combination of physical, chemical and biological processes.
