Leadership Development Programme
Course Objective:
To develop the leadership capacity and capability throughout the organisation.
Targeted Attendees:
Anyone in a senior position of leadership or influence throughout the organisation.
Course Content:
This programme is delivered in three, three day modules.
Module 1 focuses on raising self-awareness, emphasising the unique contribution each individual brings to the Company and developing the group learning environment. It will be delivered by using a mixture of interactive classroom work, enhanced through outdoor and indoor experiential learning
Key Objectives:
• Begin to understand what it means to be an effective leader
• Have a greater understanding of the effect that your own conscious and subconscious actions have
• Understand what values and principles ensure that the Company is a high performing, change-ready sustainable organisation
• Begin developing cross group networks and shared understanding
• Developing and implementing an action plan
Module 2: Teams and Team development
This module is about you, your team and the wider team. What is means to be both a team leader and a team member. What winning teams keep on doing and how they avoid the typical mistakes that many other teams make. Working together across functions, teams, silos, and business groups by developing high levels of mutual trust through investing in Character, Competence and Capability
Key Objectives:
• Have a practical understanding of and a greater appreciation of personality type
• An understanding of how you can support the continued development of the Team culture
• An understanding of how you can enhance the effectiveness of your team
• Be aware of the dysfunctional traps that teams tend to fall into and how to avoid them
• Know the benefits of reducing waste in relationships and how to achieve it
Module 3: Developing Change readiness.
Module 3 uses a blend of experiential exercises, theories and frameworks to explore how the Company can respond to and thrive in future changes in the global and business environment. We will explore the challenge of balancing the needs of all stakeholders and the fundamental benefits of consistently getting this right. We will also identify the things we need to do to attract and keep the right people in a climate that appears to make this issue one of the biggest challenges there is. We pay particular attention to the conditions for change readiness which are:
• Leaders that are effective and respected
• The ability to work flexibly across functional and hierarchical boundaries
• People who are ready to change
We will apply our thinking to real issues facing the Company and specific business units to ensure that all of the work within the module has a firm grounding in reality.
Key Objectives:
• Be able to apply a three dimensional approach to leadership
• Identify core factors that will drive change in the environment in which your business operates
• Identify key interdependencies between different business units/teams
• Explore how the behavioural values impact across the Company
• Establish a plan for personal change and business unit change to enhance your ability to respond to future change
• Develop the ability to seek critical feedback from all stakeholders
• Understand the leadership pipeline and how you fit into it
• Recognise the business risk connected with short term-ism
• Receive 360° feedback and a one to one coaching session exploring that feedback
Course Duration:
This programme is based on three, three day modules, delivered over the course of 9 months. This is necessary to let participants use in the workplace, their knowledge and skills gained on this programme, and then feedback on where the challenges and barriers are to achieving success. Action plans will also be revisited at the beginning of each module.
