Land Drainage Training
UK rainfall during June and July 2007 was unprecedented and the floods that struck much of the country were extreme, affecting hundreds of thousands of people in the UK. This severe flooding came after the wettest ever May to July period since national records began in 1766.
This introductory course investigates the rights and responsibilities associated with all aspects of land drainage.
Land drainage systems deal with a large proportion of the water arising inland from rainfall and surface water run-off as well as spring water. As the land drainage system incorporates rivers, watercourses, ditches, culverts, pipes, lakes and ponds, it is becoming an increasingly complex area of responsibility.
