Objectives
This one day course is designed to introduce resource efficiency to candidates and provide an overview of how to implement a resource efficiency program. The total cost of waste to a business, local authority or other organisation costs money typically 10 times the disposal cost and is increasing all the time. Improved resource efficiency provides many benefits to companies including aiding compliance with legislation, finding and saving hidden costs, and running the organisations more efficiently.
Course Content
An introduction to resource efficiency-fundamental concepts including the resource hierarchy and the approaches taken to achieve continual improvement.
Techniques used to identify resource streams including on-site audits and process mapping.
How to quantify resource use
Data analysis how and what to interpret?
Identifying improvement opportunities (for example the low hanging fruit)
An overview of planning, implementing and maintaining a working resource efficiency minimisation program.
