Objectives
This one day training course provides a great opportunity to learn about the main renewable energy systems (RES) and introduces how to assess the feasibility of different RES at specific sites.
Course Content
This course provides an introduction to the main issues relating to energy management in buildings and facilities operated by third party facilities management companies. Topics include:
● Someone else pays the bills, why bother?
● Introduction to energy auditing: What? Who? Where? When? Why? & How much?
● What to do with all the data? – analysis and interpretation
● Frequent opportunities for improvement (lighting, BEMS and people)
● The Human Factor –“My building is great, why does it cost so much to run?”
● Encouraging behavioural change
● The good news – spread the word.
Outcomes
At the conclusion of this course the delegate should:
● Have an understanding of the global impacts of climate change,
● Understand the fundamentals of energy auditing
● Be able to critically assess energy audit data for a site
● Be aware of frequent opportunities to improve energy management
● Have an understanding of techniques and tools to influence energy users behaviour
● Be equipped with methods to communicate energy issues to “the client”
